Leading in challenging times

Jamie Peacock MBE shares some insight on his approach to leadership and how he relied on four principles of leadership when things got tough.

Jamie Peacock, former Bradford and Leeds player and England captain, gave a speech at the LLA Inclusive Practice Conference. He talked about his experiences leading in challenging times and shared four areas that he believes are important for leaders: walking the walk, what's next, committing to the plan, and hard truth.

He used a personal story of leading the Great Britain team against Australia to illustrate the importance of leading by example and staying true to one's commitments, even when things get difficult.

He emphasized the importance of setting an example for the team and being willing to do what is difficult for the benefit of the team.

I believe you have to lead by example, you have to go there first in challenging times because it's your behaviours that set the standard.
