James Davey combined his playing career in the Championship with a role as a self-employed electrician.
Although he has found retirement tough since hanging ups his boots at the end of the 2022 season, the former Wakefield, Sheffield and Batley hooker now runs his own successful business thanks to support from Rugby League Cares.
I'd advise every player, even the ones who go full-time straight from school, to work towards a qualification or trade and get something behind them.
