SHOUT
For everyone
Shout is a crisis text service available for times when people feel they need immediate support.
Anyone who contacts the service will be put in touch with a trained Crisis Volunteer who will chat to them using trained techniques via text. Shout is free and confidential on the following major networks: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone (these include BT Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Virgin Mobile, iD Mobile, Sky, Telecom Plus, Lebara and GiffGaff). Some Android phones issue a warning that you will be charged for texting Shout; provided you are on one of these networks this warning is incorrect, and you will not be charged.

ANDY'S MAN CLUB
For men
Andy’s Man Club facilitates peer to peer support groups in safe, non-judgemental environments across England and Scotland for any man 18 and over to attend. We facilitate these both with our in person meetings and our national online groups.
Groups take place every Monday 7pm except bank holidays.
We have no professionals involved in any of the group sessions and there is no pressure to talk within the groups. Any men wanting to attend are welcome to come and listen.

PAPYRUS
For young people, up to the age of 35
Papyrus are an organisation dedicated to helping young people who feel life is not worth living or are worried about thoughts of suicide. Their Hopeline offers non-judgemental support, practical advice, and information to anyone up to the age of 35 who are worried about how they are feeling, or to anyone concerned about a young person.

FOUNDATION FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES
For people with learning disabilities
In line with the Government’s ‘No health without mental health’ strategy, the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities was funded to find out about the barriers that make it difficult for people with learning disabilities to access mental health services and resources.
They have produced easy read guides for people with learning disabilities and their families or supporters to use to think about and help them look after their mental health, these are available on their website.

ZERO SUICIDE ALLIANCE

The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) is a collaboration of National Health Service trusts, charities, businesses and individuals who are all committed to suicide prevention in the UK and beyond. We are an alliance of people and organisations coming together around one basic principle: Suicide is preventable
The ZSA is ultimately concerned with improving support for people contemplating suicide by raising awareness of, and promoting, FREE suicide prevention training which is accessible to all. Short training videos between 5 and 25 minutes are available on their website.

CALM

CALM offer an accredited confidential, anonymous, and FREE support helpline providing information and signposting to anyone anywhere in the UK through our helpline. Calls are taken by trained staff who are there to listen, support, inform and signpost. And because calls are confidential and anonymous, they do not and cannot offer a counselling service. The CALM helpline is for people in the UK who are down or have hit a wall for any reason, who need to talk or find information and support. They also offer a web chat service.

SIGN HEALTH
For deaf people
This is the largest BSL health video library, covering topics from cancer and depression, to types of abuse and how to perform first aid. Modern medicine depends on informed patients.
