Returning to rugby post pregnancy

Knowing when it is safe to return to playing again after having a baby can be difficult for women rugby league players.

In this interview with Sky Sports, York Valkyrie’s Ashleigh Hyde recalls when she returned to rugby seven weeks after giving birth.

With the Super League club making massive changes to it's squad and approach, Ashleigh reveals how she returned sooner than she expected to cement her place in the team.

And she has some astute advice for any player worried about when the right time is to take a break from the sport to have a baby.

Rugby is a massive part of your life but it's also a short part of your life: my advice would be to invest in that first and think about other things afterwards.
