John Asiata has endured more than his fair share of injury issues during a long and distinguished career in the NRL and Super League.
The Leigh Leopards captain is currently recovering from a knee injury, a setback he is tackling with the stoicism that has earned him respect on both sides of the world.
In this frank interview with Francis Stephenson, John chats about how adversity has made him stronger, the importance of having a strong support network and the strength he gets from his faith.
What you take out of the struggles in your life, the pain you face and the setbacks is important. Those lessons you learn along the way build character and make you into the person you really are. The lessons I've learned have put me in a really good place.
