Corey Hall is a 20-year-old centre or winger with Wakefield Trinity who is combining his playing career with studying for a degree in Construction Project Management at Sheffield Hallam University. In the short video, Corey chats about why education is important for all young players.
In the back of my mind I always thought I would need a back up plan.
Corey speaks in this interview about the importance of education in sports. He explains how his career started with Wakefield and how they emphasized the importance of education. However, it wasn't until he moved to Wigan at 16 that he realized the importance of having a backup plan. He chose to study construction project management at Leeds Beckett but later switched to Sheffield Hallam University.
He is currently in his second year of studying Level 5 and believes that having a degree will give him security in the future, especially after his rugby career ends. Corey mentions the importance of time management between full-time training and studying, and how he has found ways around it. He believes that having people around him who understand his situation has helped him manage both aspects of his life.
