Huddersfield Giants players Ashton Golding, Michael Lawrence and Jordan Turner give their take on their experiences in the past and how racism is a problem in the sport...
Three players, Ashton Golding, Michael Lawrence and Jordan Turner, discuss their experiences with racism in the sport. They discuss how they believe racism is taught and not inherent, and how they have faced incidents of racial abuse both on and off the field.
They also discuss the impact of stereotypes and how it has affected their careers and lives. They believe that the system is flawed and that not enough has been done to address the issue. They also talk about the impact of racism on their mental health and how it has affected them.
They believe that more needs to be done to address racism in the sport and to give equal opportunities to all players, regardless of race.
Rugby League legend Martin Offiah MBE also gives his reactions and tells the story of his experience on the matter, highlighting why the Black Lives Matter movement is so important.
We have been in games where there has been racial abuse, where the referee has stopped the game and where it's been reported to the RFL. And nothing has happened. This is not a stab at the RFL, it's just a statement of where we're at. The system is flawed.

"The fight against racism is not a fight for black people – it is everybody’s fight. We have to fight it every day. No one is born a racist, somehow they learn to be racist. We have to fight when they are kids. We have to fight every day and every time"
